With the help of the YWCA, Polly Mitchell, a prisoner in her own home, was able to escape one of the worst cases of domestic violence to ever make headlines. Since her escape, Polly has become a courageous advocate for victims of domestic violence and has shared her story on Larry King Live, 20/20, Montel, Good Morning America and the Oprah Show. The YWCA is pleased to share her inspirational story with you.

Examining Interpersonal Violence

Gail Wyatt, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA, examines the prevalence of interpersonal violence, how it occurs and why it continues today. Dr. Wyatt will also explore the effect interpersonal violence has on health, families, relationships and individuals.
